Teaching Students to L.O.V.E. Literacy:
Learn quick and easy to implement strategies for getting students to be more engaged in the standards and benchmarks which they are assessed in. Based off of Dr. K. Childs’ book, “29 Days to L.O.V.E Literacy” Audience: School staff (teachers, paraprofessionals, and PLC schools) and parent workshops. Various K-12 grade levels.
Changing the Language:
Explore ways to implement the social and environmental culture of students and applying the relevance to ELAR skills. Audience: School staff (teachers, paraprofessionals, PLC schools, Educator prep programs. Various K-12 grade levels and applicable to College English and Reading curriculum.
Write Away…Writing Across the Curriculum:
Learn how to teach the purposes of writing, and how to integrate writing in all subject areas…including Arts and P.E. Audience: School staff (teachers, paraprofessionals, and PLC schools) and Educator prep programs. Various K-12 grade levels.
Digital Minds…Writing Instruction for Students Who HATE Writing:
This workshop bridges the gap between social media and technology, and their link to written communication. Audience: School staff (teachers, paraprofessionals,and PLC schools) Various K-12 grade levels.
R.A.P. Literacy Learning:
This session explores creating ELAR curriculum that is Relevant, Authentic, and Prolific. Audience: School staff (teachers, paraprofessionals, and PLC schools; various K-12 grade levels)
Not The Book Again:
Learn about the effort to get students to learn without having to force the use of books/textbooks. The goal of this session is to immerse students into print, using everyday materials that are meant to be easily accessible and authentic sources. Audience: School staff (teachers, paraprofessionals, PLC schools) and parent workshops. Various K-12 grade levels.
